Former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander, Rahim Safavi, said, “[Iraqi Prime Minister] Mr. Nouri al-Maliki ordered the Iraqi army to carry out a relatively good attack against [Camp Ashraf], and they did. We hope this will continue.”
He added, “We praise the Iraqi army’s action and hope that these attacks will continue.”
Rahim Safavi had previously acknowledged that in 1997, when he was the IRGC commander, the regime fired more than 1,000 missiles and rockets at the base of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq.
He is among the regime’s top officials advising the mullahs’ Supreme Leader during the suppression of the Iranian people’s uprisings in recent years and also in banned list of USA.
