The Syrian National Coalition for Revolutionary and Opposition Forces has issued a strong condemnation of statements made by the Iranian regime, accusing it of attempting to sow chaos, destabilize security, and ignite sectarian strife in Syria. According to the Coalition, these actions involve leveraging remnants of the former Assad regime and Iranian operatives to instigate sectarian protests and carry out terrorist operations targeting Syrian security forces, resulting in casualties and injuries.
The Coalition emphasized that these Iranian-backed operatives and remnants of the Assad regime do not represent the Alawite community. It pointed to multiple statements from Alawite community leaders and dignitaries expressing solidarity with the broader Syrian populace and their commitment to holding accountable those responsible for the bloodshed.
The Coalition urged all Syrians, particularly those in recently affected areas, to adhere to military leadership directives for their safety and to prevent exploitation by remnants of the former regime and Iranian agents.
Holding the Iranian regime fully accountable for these incidents, the Coalition demanded an end to Iranian interference in Syria. It highlighted Iran’s history of war crimes and crimes against humanity in partnership with the Assad regime and reiterated Syria’s determination to pursue justice for innocent victims.
The Coalition also stressed the urgent need for unity among Syrians to rebuild the nation after decades of oppression. It called for collective national efforts to reject division and promote security, stability, and peace, which are essential for launching a path toward reconstruction and prosperity.
Expressing support for the Syrian Interim Government, the Coalition urged the activation of independent, impartial judicial mechanisms to prosecute perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity. It also called on all Syrians to cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure security and foster civil peace across the country.
