NCRI – An Iraqi leader stated that Iranian regime is involved in the assassination of the Iraqi nationalists and political figures including Mr. Ayfan Saadun Al-Essawi.
Mr. Ahmad Abu-Risha, the head of the Awakening Council of Iraq said “Iran, alongside other countries are supporting terrorist groups in Iraq, the groups who are responsible for the killing of Iraqi nationalistic and political personalities including Mr. Al-Essawi,” Aswat Al Iraq news agency reported on Wednesday.
Mr. Ayfan Saadun Al-Essawi was assassinated on Tuesday January 16, 2013.
In his remarks, Mr. Ahmad Abou Richeh added that in the past few days, Iraq has faced a number of deadly attacks by terrorists groups. Such attacks have coincided with the uprisings in Iraq and Mr. Al-Essawi has not been the first one who has been assassinated.
He added that such attacks have happened in Mosul, and Diyala and Saladin provinces. Such acts of terrorism are not going to silence the uprisings in Iraq.
He said: “The terrorist acts in Iraq are coordinated attacks by groups supported by Iran.”
