NCRI – Young people in the Iranian city of Karaj, north-west of Tehran, late on Tuesday set alight a 2-meter-tall picture of the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during the annual Fire Festival.

The words “I am the murderer of the nation” were written on Khamenei’s picture before it was set on fire.

The main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMOI (or Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK) had urged the people of Iran to use the annual Fire Festival, traditionally held on the final Tuesday evening of the Persian calendar year, to put on display their resentment for the mullahs’ regime.

Iran’s fundamentalist regime has banned the ancient traditional festival known in Iran as Chaharshanbeh Souri
