Maryam Rajavi: the Iranian nation’s boycott of the sham elections is an indication of the Iranian people’s resolve for change
The Iranian people are able to bring change in Iran and rid the world from the major threat of the century
The Iranian Resistance’s President-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi called the Iranian nation’s boycott of the sham elections of the Assembly of Experts a display of a national unity and Iranian people’s resolve to replace the religious fascism ruling the country with a national unity government.
She said, “Despite all pressures and suppressions imposed on the Iranian people, with the boycott of today’s elections, they have demonstrated their will that united with their Resistance they can bring a democratic change and rid the world from the biggest threat of the 21st century.”
Mrs. Rajavi called the orchestrated and nationwide move by the Iranian people of a clear sign that the mullahs’ regime is on the verge of collapse. She wished that the Iranian people’s boycott, in particular subsequent to the verdict by the European Court of First Intance to annul the “Decision” by the EU to put the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran on the terrorist list, would culminate into a firm policy to end the appeasement of the Iranian regime.
Reports received from polling stations in Tehran and various other cities indicate that the Iranian people have overwhelmingly boycotted the sham elections. Ten hours after the opening of the polling stations they were still empty and number of voters hardly exceeded a handful. In most stations only members of Revolutionary Guards Corps, paramilitary Bassij and plain-cloths agents were roaming around.
