Opposition claims 132,000 Iranian agents in Iraq

MENL, London — The Iranian opposition asserts that the regime in Teheran maintains 132,000 agents in neighboring Iraq.

The opposition Mujahadeen Khalq said Iran has recruited 132,000 people to serve as agents in Iraq. Mujahadeen said they include numerous Iraqi Shi’ite officials and politicians.

"There is a list of 132,000 agents who work for Iran inside Iraq." Mujahadeen spokeswoman Dawlat Nawruzi said. "The Mujahadeen Khalq Organization has obtained precise information about the names of the agents, their titles and financial allowances they receive from the Iranian government."

In a Jan. 30 interview with the London-based A-Sharq Al Awsat Ms. Nawruzi said Iraqi agents of Iran have received millions of dollars to organize violence against Sunnis and others. She said the Shi’ite death squads have been financed by Iran.
