Prisoners Across 54 Iranian Prisons Continue ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ Campaign in 93rd Week

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign has entered its 93rd consecutive week, uniting prisoners across 54 prisons throughout Iran in a coordinated act of resistance against the regime’s relentless wave of executions.

The prisoners’ new statement denounces what they describe as “the runaway execution machine of the clerical fascism,” warning that the regime continues its killings at an alarming pace. Following a week-long hunger strike by inmates in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison, executions across the country have reportedly accelerated. “In just the first 12 days of Aban [October 23–November 3], at least 76 prisoners have been executed,” the statement reads.

In a show of solidarity, voices of opposition to executions have also emerged outside the prison walls. The statement highlights that “retirees in Kermanshah chanted slogans such as ‘Carrying out executions is treason against the Quran,’ ‘Iran without executions,’ and ‘Execution decrees must be abolished!’” during their recent protests.

The campaign’s declaration also references recent international condemnations. It notes that UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, Javaid Rehman’s successor Mai Sato, and Sara Hossain, head of the UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, both raised serious concerns at the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee. They condemned the widespread violation of the right to life and the “secret executions,” only 8% of which are officially reported by regime sources.

Despite growing repression, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” movement continues to expand. The statement emphasizes that prisoners in 54 prisons, including Evin, Ghezel Hesar, Greater Tehran, Qarchak, Ahvaz, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Rasht, Tabriz, Urmia, Sanandaj, and many others, will join the campaign’s 93rd week on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, by going on hunger strike.

The prisoners called on all Iranians to resist silence and act:

“We urge all prisoners, especially those sentenced to death, not to remain silent in the face of this unjust punishment. We call on families and the people of Iran not to let these killings continue in silence. Publish the names of those sentenced to death and raise your voice with ‘No to Execution’ in every street and alley.”

As the Iranian regime intensifies its execution campaign, this coordinated protest from within the prisons stands as a powerful symbol of defiance and unity against the machinery of death.
