Coinciding with the anniversary of the great November 2019 uprising, which sent tremors of overthrow through the clerical regime, Resistance Units carried out a series of 167 actions, including graphic displays and banner installations, across six nationwide campaigns. These activities took place in Tehran and dozens of cities, including Shiraz, Mashhad, Karaj, Isfahan, Tabriz, Zahedan, Saravan, Javanrud, Shahriar, Mahshahr, Kermanshah, Gorgan, Sari, Iranshahr, Ahvaz, Hamedan, Sanandaj, Quchan, Zanjan, Bukan, Ilam, Sabzevar, Bojnurd, Saveh, Bandar Abbas, Ramsar, and Yasuj, amid the highest state of alert by the clerical regime’s suppressive forces.
During this campaign, rebellious youth honored the memory of the 1,500 martyrs of the November uprising by placing flowers at sites commemorating the regime’s crimes. In Shiraz, Shahriar, Mahshahr, Kermanshah, Gorgan, Javanrud, Karaj, and Isfahan, messages such as ‘Aban (November) is always remembered,’ ‘From ‘1988 to November (2019), we stand firm until the end,’ and ‘Seeking justice for the blood of our comrades’ were installed and distributed.
Simultaneously, Resistance Units in Tehran, Shiraz, Karaj, Isfahan, Hamedan, Ahvaz, Yasuj, Zahedan, Saravan, and Ramsar held marches, carried torches, displayed photos of the martyrs, and conducted motorcycle and bicycle parades. In Isfahan, a unit of rebellious women held a candle and torchlight vigil to keep the martyrs’ memory alive, while rebellious groups in Shiraz, Zahedan, and Saravan emphasized their commitment to continuing the path toward overthrowing the regime. Slogans such as ‘Our 1,500 martyrs of the November uprising,’ ‘Down with the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader,’ and ‘We swear on the blood of our comrades, we will stand firm until the end’ were prominently featured in various scenes.
Across various parts of the cities, slogans were also written, including ‘The November uprising proved the only path to liberation is fire for fire,’ ‘The 2019 uprising pushed the regime to the brink of overthrow,’ ‘We will neither forgive nor forget,’ ‘We will fight, we will die, we will take Iran back,’ ‘Rebellion, anytime, anywhere,’ and ‘The overthrow of the anti-human enemy is inevitable.’
This campaign was conducted under conditions where the commander of the IRGC’s 27th Division had issued orders for a full state of alert and ‘severe suppression of any movement’ following the announcement of the first November uprising campaign. Basij and IRGC bases rearmed and conducted shooting drills, and on November 15, nearly 30,000 suppressive forces, including the IRGC, Basij, State Security Force (SSF), plainclothes agents, and intelligence officers, were deployed to control Tehran.
