Iran’s Rebellious Youth Confront Repressive Forces in Dozens of Cities on Fifth Day of Uprising; Several Protesters Killed

On Thursday, January 1, 2026, the fifth day of the nationwide uprising, the flames of uprising surged in various cities across the country. The people and rebellious youth demonstrated their firm resolve to overthrow the religious dictatorship by attacking repressive centers and government symbols. On this day, two young people were martyred in Lordegan, and another youth was martyred the night before in Fuladshahr, Isfahan province. Several protesters were injured, and others were arrested.

Various cities in Lorestan province were scenes of resistance by the people and rebellious youth. In Azna, responding to attacks and gunfire from repressive forces, brave and rebellious youth attacked the main police station, setting the building and several State Security Force (SSF) vehicles on fire. In Nurabad, a security forces vehicle was overturned by the people. Tear gas and gunfire from repressive forces failed to prevent the people from gathering. In Delfan, angry youth set fire to an IRGC intelligence vehicle.

In Khorasan Razavi province, protesters in Mashhad set a Basij base on fire, and students at Khayyam University demonstrated, chanting, “Students would rather die than live in humiliation.” In Sabzevar, rebellious youth set another Basij base ablaze. In Neyshabur, Basij mercenaries were punished by the people.

On this day, the cities of Shiraz, Kavar, Marvdasht, and Firuzabad in Fars province witnessed large crowds chanting “Death to the dictator” and lighting fires. In Marvdasht, the SSF’s savages fired on people’s cars.

On Thursday night, Ilam, Dehloran, and Abdanan were scenes of protests against the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, with people chanting “Death to Khamenei,” as mercenaries attacked and repressive forces fired directly at people and their private vehicles.

Hamedan and other cities in the province, such as Asadabad and Nahavand, were also scenes of demonstrations and confrontations between the people and repressive forces, which resulted in the mercenaries fleeing in Hamedan.

Isfahan witnessed popular demonstrations and confrontations with repressive forces. In Junaqan, rebellious youths set fire to the office of Khamenei’s Friday prayer leader. On Thursday evening, Semirom saw protests and the torching of an SSF vehicle, and in Shahin Shahr, protesters clashed with SSF agents.

On Thursday night, the people of Qom demonstrated and confronted SSF agents, chanting, “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, we are all together” and “Tanks, cannons, firecrackers, the mullahs must get lost.”

In Kermanshah province, on Thursday and into the evening, the cities of Kermanshah, Islamabad-e Gharb, and Harsin were scenes of demonstrations and street battles. In Islamabad-e Gharb, the regime’s agents tried to disperse the people with live ammunition and tear gas but were met with staunch resistance from the youth.

In the city of Farsan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, courageous protesters set fire to one of the regime’s seminaries.

In Hormozgan province, on Thursday evening, a group of people in Bandar Abbas, led by brave women, took to the streets and demonstrated, chanting anti-government slogans.

In Qazvin, protesters forced the regime’s security mercenaries to flee.

In Rasht, the capital of Gilan province, a group of people demonstrated, chanting anti-government slogans.

In the city of Lali, in northeastern Khuzestan province, rebellious youth clashed with repressive SSF agents and set fire to the statue of Qassem Soleimani.

Clashes between the people and repressive forces in Arak, which had begun in previous days, continued on Thursday. The people of Khomein in the same province also demonstrated, chanting, “This is the year of blood, Seyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown.”
