Nationwide Uprising- No. 15

Simultaneously, rebellious youth in the Golshan district of Shiraz blocked the road by setting tires on fire.
In Malekshahi, Ilam province, the city’s youth demonstrated. Repressive forces opened fire on the protesters. According to initial reports, a number of people were martyred and wounded.
Students at Shahrud University of Technology, chanting ‘Students will die but not accept humiliation,’ and students at Allameh University’s Hemmat dormitory in Tehran, echoing the slogan ‘Death to the dictator,’ affirmed their commitment to continuing the uprising.
Terrified by the continuation and expansion of the uprising, the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, appeared today after a week of silence on the anniversary of Qasem Soleimani’s death and said, ‘Protest is different from rioting. We talk to the protester… but talking to the rioter is useless; the rioter must be put in their place. It is absolutely unacceptable for a group to create riots with the intention of making the country [i.e., the regime] insecure. The enemy’s work must be recognized; the enemy will not rest.’ Khamenei’s reference to ‘rioters’ is directed at the same rebellious youth who for a week have shaken the foundations of his tyrannical rule with slogans like ‘Death to Khamenei’ and ‘This year is the year of blood, Seyed Ali will be overthrown.’
Simultaneously, political prisoners sent messages of solidarity to the protesters. In statements, 13 political prisoners from Ward 4 of Evin Prison and three political prisoners on death row in Ghezel Hesar Prison supported the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, emphasizing that ‘the time to bury the dictatorships of the mullahs and the Shah has come’ and that ‘the fire of freedom’ has been lit.
