In a coordinated display of defiance and organizational strength, PMOI-led Resistance Units launched a large-scale visual offensive across Iran’s major urban centers today, February 28, 2026. This tactical surge follows the historic announcement by the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) regarding the formation of a Provisional Government. The new body is tasked with the transition of sovereignty to the Iranian people and the establishment of a Democratic Republic based on Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan.

In the heart of the capital, Resistance Units executed high-risk operations to hang massive banners from pedestrian overpasses in some of Tehran’s most heavily monitored districts. One prominent banner featured the image of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI, with the bold inscription: “The era of any type of dictatorship, whether the Shah or the Mullahs, has ended.” This public display serves as a direct endorsement of the NCRI’s transitional roadmap, signaling to the Iranian public that a structured democratic alternative is now operational.

The momentum extended to Isfahan, where units saturated the city with slogans honoring the resistance leadership. In Rafsanjan, the rhetoric took on a more decisive tone; banners appeared declaring, “The Liberation Army is coming.” This shift in messaging reflects the NCRI’s latest decree to transfer power back to the citizens, portraying the Resistance Units not just as protestors, but as the vanguard of a burgeoning provisional administration.

In Shiraz and Tehran, Resistance Units hung banners featuring the images of Resistance leaders in prominent public spaces. Simultaneously, units in Qazvin, Khorramabad, Isfahan, and Tabriz distributed and displayed posters declaring “The NLA is coming back,” while painting graffiti on walls across these cities with the slogan “Viva Rajavi”.

The simultaneous occurrence of the NCRI’s official announcement and these field operations indicates a high level of synchronization between the resistance leadership abroad and the units on the ground. By raising these banners in broad daylight, the Resistance Units are effectively reclaiming the public square and validating the NCRI’s plan for a secular, democratic republic. The core message of the day—”Long Live the Democratic Republic of Iran”—marks a definitive rejection of both the current theocratic regime and any return to monarchical rule.
