On Monday, September 14, 2026, large numbers of telecommunications retirees held protest gatherings in front of the Ministry of Communications in Tehran and in the cities of Tabriz, Sanandaj, Bijar, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Ilam, and Hamedan. The retirees, whose long-standing demands regarding supplementary insurance and pension equalization have been ignored, expressed their strong protest against plundering institutions, including the ‘Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order’ (EIKO) and the ‘IRGC Cooperatives Foundation.’ They chanted, “The Cooperatives Foundation has devoured our rights,” “The Executive Headquarters has devoured our rights,” “Stop the oppression and injustice, return our rights,” “We will fight, we will die, we will reclaim our rights,” and “Do not tell us the funds are gone; we are tired of your slogans.”
On Sunday, September 13, 2026, retirees of the Social Security Organization took to the streets in Ahvaz, Shush, Karkheh, Haft-Tappeh, Dezful, Tehran, Rasht, Tabriz, and Qazvin to protest catastrophic living conditions, runaway inflation, and meager wages. In Ahvaz, retirees gathered in front of the Khuzestan Social Security Department. Expressing their anger at the corruption and looting by regime-affiliated entities, protesters chanted, “From Khuzestan to Tehran, death to these managers,” “Gathering and protesting are our absolute rights,” “The bankrupt government is the enemy of the retirees,” and “If one embezzlement is reduced, our problems will be solved.” Simultaneously, steel industry retirees in Isfahan held a march at Imam Hossein Square (Darvazeh Dolat) and gathered in front of the Governor’s office, while Homa Fund retirees in Tehran protested against the degradation of medical care and the systemic failure of the regime’s managers.
On the same day, workers at the Yadavaran oil field in Khuzestan gathered to protest the non-payment of benefits. Workers at the Saman Kashi Boroujerd factory gathered to protest job instability and overdue payments, while municipal green space workers in Ilam protested a change of contractors and three months of unpaid wages.
Drivers on the Sirjan-Kerman route held a protest against the severe reduction of their fuel rations.
On September 9, 2026, victims of the ‘Cryptoland’ scam—whose managers are protected by the IRGC and the regime’s judiciary—gathered in front of the Central Prosecutor’s Office in Tehran and chanted, “Our shame, our shame, our disgraceful judiciary.” The repressive State Security Force (SSF) raided the gathering and arrested a number of the protesters.
