Resistance Units Mark Uprising Anniversary With 40 Operations Across Iran
On September 14, 2026, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units marked the fourth anniversary of Iran’s 2022 nationwide uprising with 40 operations against regime targets across the country.
The operations detailed in the reports extended across at least 19 cities, from Tehran, Mashhad, and Kermanshah to Zahedan, Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, and Bushehr. They were carried out as the regime placed its security apparatus on special alert ahead of the anniversary and intensified its threats against the PMOI and its supporters.

Several of the operations struck facilities associated with the IRGC Basij, one of the regime’s principal instruments of domestic repression. Resistance Units targeted a Basij base in Mashhad, set fire to the entrance and premises of a Basij base in Bam, and burned the signpost of another Basij base in Iranshahr.
In Mashhad and Kermanshah, Resistance Units targeted regime centers used to spread fundamentalism and terrorism.
Iranian-Americans to Rally at UN General Assembly in NY To Spotlight Executions, Call for Change
Thousands of Iranian-Americans from across the U.S. are expected to gather Tuesday outside the United Nations headquarters in New York City during the international organization’s 81st General Assembly to draw attention to demands to end to political executions and repression in Iran and voice support for a democratic alternative to the ruling theocracy, organizers say.
The rally is being organized by the National Council of Resistance of Iran and its president-elect, Maryam Rajavi.
The rally is set for when President Trump is scheduled to address the Assembly, and continue Wednesday as a protest, while Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian is due to take the podium.
The U.S. and Iran have been at war since late February.
Among those expected to participate in the rally Monday are a bipartisan group of U.S. dignitaries, human rights advocates, former political prisoners, and supporters of a free Iran.

A parliamentary conference in the United Kingdom brought together lawmakers, legal experts, members of the Anglo-Iranian community, and representatives of the Iranian Resistance to discuss the continuing human rights crisis in Iran, accountability for the regime’s crimes, and prospects for democratic change.

30 NGOs Warn Iran’s Executions Pose Urgent Atrocity-Prevention Risk
Thirty human rights organizations have warned the United Nations Human Rights Council that Iran’s escalating use of the death penalty against political prisoners, protesters, and perceived opponents has become an urgent atrocity-prevention concern.
In a joint written statement submitted to the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council, the organizations said executions are increasingly being used to suppress dissent, intimidate society, and punish people for exercising their rights to freedom of expression, association, and peaceful assembly.
The statement argues that the current pattern should not be viewed as a series of isolated executions. Instead, the NGOs point to indicators identified in the United Nations Framework of Analysis for Atrocity Crimes, including a history of serious human rights violations, motives or incentives to target civilian populations, enabling conditions, and indications of widespread or systematic attacks.
A Smaller Table, a Wider Gap in the Daily Lives of Iranians
The latest report by Iran’s Statistical Center on major economic and social indicators, published in September 2026, brings together a range of official statistics. The report’s second chapter, focusing on household budgets and income distribution, offers a more tangible picture: the gap between income groups, differences in consumption patterns between urban and rural areas, and the large share of essential expenses in household resources. Khosravi Border Grinds to a Halt as Daily Truck Traffic Plummets from 600 to 80
The Khosravi border crossing between Iran and Iraq has recently come under the spotlight of transport operators and exporters in western Iran. A number of truck drivers and businesspeople working at the crossing are protesting the prolonged delays for heavy vehicles and the lack of basic amenities. According to them, some shipments have been left waiting in the Khosravi border area for nearly a month. According to field reports, some trucks carrying export goods remain stopped at the Khosravi border for several days. Other drivers say their waiting time has reached nearly a month. Businesspeople say the prolonged stoppages at this border terminal are not affecting only drivers. Perishable goods are at risk of damage, while shipment storage costs are rising. Iran: Mahboubeh Shabani, Charged With “Moharebeh”, At Risk of a Death Sentence

Iran Cuts $900 Million in Preferential Currency for Medicines as Prices Rise 103%
Iran’s Food and Drug Administration chief says cuts to subsidized foreign currency, a surge in exchange rates and insurers’ debts have increased the cost of producing and supplying medicines, while patients’ out-of-pocket spending on drugs has risen 35% and shortages of branded medicines persist.
Rising foreign-exchange costs and financial pressure on insurers have pushed Iran’s pharmaceutical industry into one of its steepest price increases in recent years. According to the head of the Food and Drug Administration, the average price of medicines has risen by about 103% since the start of the current year, while patients’ share of payments has increased by 35%. At the same time, the budget for preferential foreign currency allocated to medicines and medical equipment has been reduced, leaving manufacturers facing higher raw-material costs and liquidity shortages.
Mohammad Mehdi Pirsalehi, head of the Food and Drug Administration, said the annual allocation of preferential foreign currency for medicines and medical equipment, previously $3.5 billion, has been reduced to $3 billion in this year’s budget. In addition to that $500 million cut, about $400 million more for some pharmaceutical groups has been removed from preferential-currency coverage.
