Iran: Protests and Marches by Retirees, Workers, Plundered Investors, and Other Sectors in Various Cities
- “Justice, Justice, Is Dead in This Land,” “Death to High Prices, Poverty, War, and Destruction,” “Our Enemy Is Right Here, They Lie That It’s America”
On Sunday, October 18, and Monday, October 19, various cities in Iran witnessed protest gatherings and marches by people from various sectors fed up with the plunder and looting of the mullahs’ regime.
On Monday, October 19, telecommunications retirees in the provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Hamedan, and Ilam gathered to protest looting by the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) and the IRGC Cooperative Foundation. In Isfahan, protesters gathered in front of the governorate chanting: “Justice, justice, is dead in this land,” and “We built telecommunications, the IRGC took it, and we lost.” In Kermanshah, they chanted: “Iran’s Telecommunications does not obey the law,” “The major shareholder has devoured our rights,” and “Until we get our rights, we will not stop.”
On the same day, plundered investors of the Pishgaman Institute in Yazd blocked Fallahi Street in protest against the theft of their capital. Also, investors in “Fajr Bahman” shares gathered in front of the regime’s judiciary in Mashhad, and applicants for the National Housing project in Dehdasht gathered, demanding clarification and the return of their plundered capital.
On Sunday, October 18, Social Security retirees in Tehran, Kermanshah, Shush, Rasht, and Ahvaz, as well as Steel and Iron Smelting retirees in Isfahan, held protest rallies. In Isfahan, retirees chanted: “Our enemy is right here; they lie that it’s America.” In Tehran, they shouted: “High prices, embezzlement; this is your economy.” In Kermanshah, chants of “Retirees’ assets are constantly being plundered,” “Where is the oil money? Inflation is for us,” “Death to high prices, poverty, war, and destruction,” and “Abundant poverty and oppression have brought us to the streets” resonated.
