Iran: Twenty-one prisoners hanged in past week

Iran: Twenty-one prisoners hanged in past weekNCRI – The mullahs’ henchmen hanged five prisoners without identifying them in the southern city of Birjand, the state-run news agency Fars reported yesterday.

Since the introduction of the new phase of so called "public security plan" by the State Security Forces (SSF), the mullahs’ regime hanged 21 prisoners in the past week. The regime has turned to widespread suppression to prevent popular uprisings under the pretext of combating "hooligans and thugs."

Executing political prisoners such as members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) as common criminals under the pretext of drug smugglers has been a common practice in Iran.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations to condemn the brutal violation of human rights and adopt urgent measures to stop executions in Iran.
