NCRI – Protests and clashes between people and agents of the State Security Force (SSF) in Tehran which began in the afternoon on Monday continued till late hours (local time in Tehran).
The regime has deployed agents of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, paramilitary Bassij, Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), State Security Force (SSF), and plain-clothes personnel throughout the capital. Angry people are chanting “death to the dictator” and seeking the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime and establishment of democracy in Iran.
The suppressive forces opened fire on thousands of protestors in Enghelab and Azadi streets and other roads in the city center, killing or injuring a number of them. They tried to disperse the crowds using pepper-spray, and they brutally attacked the protestors, including women, with knives, daggers, truncheons and batons. The clashes continue at this time and the sounds of ambulance sirens can be heard in this part of the capital.
In the course of the clashes several cars and motorcycles belonging to the suppressive forces were torched, and a number of the protestors were arrested.
