National Council of Resistance of IranNationwide uprising in Iran – Statement 28

NCRI – At least 43 people have been killed by agents of the Revolutionary Guards, anti-riot force and other suppressive forces during the first five days of the people's nationwide uprising, the social department of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran said, adding that some were fatally shot and others were beaten or stabbed to death.

Thirty of these people were killed in Tehran while 13 others died in other cities including Esfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Yazd and Khorram-Abad. Among them were minors and elderly mothers.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, offered her condolences to the relatives of the martyrs and she called on the Iranian people to come to their support. At a time when millions of Iranians chant death to dictatorship, and the regime continues to kill them, there can be no justification for appeasing or reaching out to the religious dictatorship, she said, adding that the international community must impose sanctions on the regime and isolate it.
