Egyptian MP says Ahmadinejad’s trip meant to cover up internal opposition

Dr. Jamal ZahranNCRI – A member of the Egyptian Parliament has said that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s ‎visit to Lebanon is tied to the domestic upheavals and the pressures of the main ‎opposition against the regime.‎

According to al-Hurra TV, Dr. Jamal Zahran, a parliamentarian in Cairo and a political ‎science professor said, “This visit is linked to the domestic situation in Iran because there ‎is internal opposition and pressures by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran ‎‎(PMOI/MEK) against the regime.”‎

Dr. Zahran added, “This regime confronts increasing opposition in Iran through inhumane ‎actions. It thus tries to cover up internal abuses with foreign gestures and thwart the ‎opposition.”‎
