Iran uprising – No. 35
During the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising which is continuing despite the killing of, and violent crackdown on defenseless citizens, the Revolutionary Guards in Gorgan, northern Iran, shot a young man at point-blank range and then struck him with an ax, killing him in front shocked bystanders.
The video clip of this heinous crime, a manifest case of crime against humanity, shows a scene where a group of Revolutionary Guards, wearing plainclothes, attack a defiant young man, first shooting him with a revolver and then, as he falls to the ground defenseless, strike him with an ax and kill him. See the clip here.
This is only one of the hundreds of such atrocities perpetrated in different Iranian cities in the past few days by the suppressive forces acting on the direct orders of the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. It underscores the imperative of immediate intervention by the international community and the dispatch of fact-finding missions to Iran to obtain information on the number and the situation of the martyrs and prisoners. Silence and inaction vis-à-vis these shocking crimes are complicity in the crime and embolden the mullahs to continue their atrocities against a defenseless nation that has risen up for freedom and people’s sovereignty.
