NCRI – Two prisoners hanged in Zahedan on charges of “moharebeh”

The life of a 22 year old prisoner, who has been incarcerated since 15, is in danger. The inhumane clerical regime has told his family, that Mohammad-Reza Hadadi will be hanged on Wednesday, July 7.

On Sunday, July 4, two prisoners identified as Amanollah Pourian and Younes Rahmani were hanged at the central prison of Zahedan city as on charges of “moharebeh” (waging war on God) and “being corrupt on Earth.” The state-run Fars news agency, affiliated with the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said the objective of these cruel hangings, which it described as “divine punishment,” is to “teach a lesson to other criminals” and “establish security.”

Hangings, especially as it concerns young prisoners, on the brink of the July 8 protests demonstrate the faltering clerical regime’s fear over rising popular protests, especially by courageous students. The regime seeks to use the hangings to intensify the atmosphere of terror and suppression in society.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international authorities and human rights organizations, particularly the United Nations Secretary General, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and rapporteurs on arbitrary arrests and executions to condemn the deteriorating human rights conditions in Iran and enact urgent measures to prevent the cruel execution of the young prisoner, Mohammad-Reza Hadadi.
