On Wednesday morning, at least 5 prisoners were hanged in Gohardasht prison, 2 Baluch compatriots (Lal Mohammad Shirzaei Barahui and Hossein Zarei) were executed in Minab prison, and one prisoner (Hanif Khosravi) was put to death in Neishabor prison.

This brings the total number of executions, from Saturday, April 29 to today, to at least 20 prisoners, including 14 Baluch compatriots. Two of those executed were Baluch women.

The religious fascism ruling Iran, driven by fear of a potential societal uprising, intends to prevent such an event by carrying out these criminal executions and creating an atmosphere of terror. This is a clear violation of universal principles of human rights for which human society has sacrificed tens of millions to achieve. The regime has a record of torture, terror, and execution and must be rejected by the international community.

The dossier of this regime’s crimes should be referred to the United Nations Security Council and its leaders should be brought to justice for four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide.
