Iran: 9 hangings and death sentences in 6 days

ImageAccording to state-run daily Jomhouri Islami yesterday, three men were sentenced to death in Qom (south of Tehran) on drug trafficking charges. The daily Hamshahri also reported that the regime’s Supreme Court had upheld death sentences for three young men on Thursday and a woman and a man on Wednesday.

Official news agency, ISNA, also reported on Saturday, December 10, that a man was hanged in the Evin prison in Tehran.
The Iranian Resistance again urges the international community to condemn the barbaric executions in Iran and to adopt practical measures to prevent the continuing and increasing atrocities in Iran. It particularly calls for the referral of the human rights record of the medieval regime ruling Iran to the United Nations Security Council. Silence and inaction vis-à-vis the clerical regime’s crimes will only embolden them in their repression, killings, and torture of the Iranian people.
