Iran: Call to save five political prisoners on death row from fellow Arab citizens

NCRI – The Iranian Resistance calls on international community for urgent action to save the lives of five political prisoners on death row from fellow Arab citizens in Ahwaz.

Muhammad Ali Amouri, fisheris engineer; Hadi Rashedi, chemistry teacher; Hashem Shabani, teacher; Jaber Al-Boushoukeh, computer engineer; Mukhtar Al-Boushoukeh, Jaber’s brother; have been sentenced to death for “Moharebeh” (waging war against God), “conspiring against state security” and “propaganda against the regime”.
The five political prisoners have been subjected to torture in order to make forced confessions. The prisoners were transferred from Karoon prison in Ahwaz on January 17 to an unknown location.

Four other political prisoners from fellow Arab citizens in Ahwaz, including three brothers named Abdolrahman, Abbas and Jamshid Heydari, and another prisoner named Ali Sharifi were executed on June 18, 2012. All of the said prisoners were detained in April 2011 during a demonstration in Ahwaz.
