The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on June 11, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 330 cities across Iran had exceeded 50,900. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 4,130, Qom 3,640, Isfahan 2,590, Sistan and Baluchestan 1,855, Kermanshah 1,240, Kurdistan 1,020, and Hormozgan 337.

According to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Committee, reported by the state-run daily, Sharqh, “The prevalence of this virus is increasing in many provinces of Iran … Currently, the highest Coronavirus outbreak is in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Khuzestan, Zanjan, Kurdistan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Lorestan, Qazvin, and Qom … The study of this phenomenon shows that now many provinces of Iran have reached more complicated conditions than in May and may soon see the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak in Iran.”

In Tehran, Alireza Zali, head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT), noting the increase in the number of Coronavirus patients visiting Tehran’s hospitals told the state TV, today, “If in our analysis we conclude the start of new waves of Coronavirus, we will reconsider the reopening.”

The University of Medical Sciences in Hormozgan quoted by the IRGC affiliated news agency, Mehr, announced yesterday, “In the past 24 hours, 351 new cases of Coronavirus infection have been identified in the Province, bringing the number of patients to 6,625.” According to the state-run news agency Tasnim, Kianoosh Jahanbakhsh, Hormozgan’s representative in the regime’s Supreme Council of Provinces, addressing Hassan Rouhani (regime’s President) said, “Hormozgan Province was in a relatively good situation, but the hasty and unprofessional decision in announcing the status of the Province as normal and free of virus created a situation that today it is suffering from an extreme crisis and in a red state in terms of Coronavirus … The statistics of the infected and dead in this Province is very worrying since this is a result of irresponsibility and illogical decisions.”

According to the IRGC affiliated website, Javan, Kermanshah’s University of Medical Sciences announced yesterday,” The number of hospitalized patients has doubled compared to last month; the death toll has increased over the past couple of weeks and the number of critically ill patients is increasing every day.”

In Kurdistan, the Quds force affiliated news agency, Tasnim, reporting about the overcrowded Coronavirus ward in Tohid Hospital in Sanandaj, wrote on June 10, 2020, “These days, in addition to the fact that the number of patients hospitalized has increased and multiplied, the health providers are exhausted … One of the nurses said that these days the healthcare staff are exasperated, and we are short of staff. The number of patients has increased a lot … Eyewitnesses say that the number of patients is so high that the hospital beds are no longer adequate … The alarming statistics of the number of people infected with the Coronavirus in Kurdistan Province today set a new record of 292 during the past 24 hours … Certainly, in the coming days, the crisis in Kurdistan Province, especially in the city of Sanandaj, will be worse and more irreversible, and we will suffer a severe defeat along the way.”

In Ilam, the President of the Medical Sciences University was quoted by Hamshahri daily on June 11 as saying, “The number of those infected with COVD-19 in areas covered by the University has an upward trend, which is on the rise. We must prepare ourselves for a crisis. Coronavirus may return stronger than before at any moment.”

In Khuzestan, Ahvaz Medical Sciences University’s public relations department announced, “Beginning Thursday, June 11, the Supreme Council of Information Dissemination of the Health Ministry ordered that the daily Coronavirus stats be announced only through this Council and by the Ministry’s spokesperson daily,” according to ISNA today. Subsequently, Aftab Yazd daily wrote on Thursday, “It appears that officials have seen the only way to confront the virus in censoring the statistics and believe that through lack of transparency in this regard and keeping people uninformed from the daily figures, they can prevent the spread of this deadly virus in the country.”

Mohammad Mirzabeigi, the head of the country’s nursing organization, told ISNA news agency on June 10, “During the Coronavirus crisis, 7,000 nurses in the country contracted the virus. Mizan wrote yesterday that so far, 150 medical personnel in Baqiyatallah Hospital, the largest IRGC Hospital, have contracted the virus.
