Number of Executions During Pezeshkian’s Term Reaches 1,010

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Khamenei’s executioners hanged at least 15 prisoners in the prisons of Qezelhessar (Karaj), Shahroud, Gonabad, Gonbad-e Kavus, Kermanshah, Shiraz, Qom, and Ahvaz. The executed prisoners include:

  • Five prisoners in Qezelhessar Prison, Karaj: Bahram Hadavandkhani, after 16 years of imprisonment; Salar Amirjalali; Abolfazl Karimi; Mehdi Salan; and Sajjad Akbari.
  • Two prisoners in Shiraz: Vahid Ashouri and Masoud Mirzaei.
  • Two prisoners in Gonabad: Esmaeil Dahmardeh and Younes Kord.
  • Two prisoners in Gonbad-e Kavus: Behrouz Shir-Mohammadli, 27 years old, and a 20-year-old prisoner named Behzad, who was under 18 at the time of the alleged crime.
  • Gholamreza Pardakhteh in Shahroud, Kambiz Fathi in Kermanshah, Sasan Rashidi in Sepidar Prison (Ahvaz), and Habib Aghaei in Qom.

Additionally, on the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2025, three more prisoners were executed:
Ehsan Bamari and Yasin Bamari, 28 years old, in Iranshahr; and Moein Ashrafi, 32 years old, in Shahroud.

Thus, the number of executions during the presidency of Masoud Pezeshkian, since August 2024, has reached 1,010 prisoners.

In fear of the explosive state of society and to prevent a nationwide uprising, the clerical regime has accelerated the pace of its criminal executions. The Iranian Resistance once again urges the United Nations, the European Union, and all international human rights organizations to condemn these brutal executions and take urgent action to save the lives of those on death row. The case of human rights violations in Iran must be referred to the United Nations Security Council, and the regime’s leaders must be brought to justice.
