1438 Executions Under Pezeshkian’s Administration
Khamenei’s executioners today, Sunday, July 20, hanged three Baluch compatriots in Zahedan Prison: Dariush Shahbakhsh, 24 years old; Abdoljilil Darkzehi, 35 years old; and Ne’matollah Shahnawazi.
On Saturday, July 19, six other prisoners fell victim to the execution machine of the clerical regime: Mohammad Ahmadkhani and Parviz Sarlak in Aligudarz; Mohammad and Alireza Eshterak along with another unnamed prisoner in Gorgan; and Davoud Amani in Zanjan.
On Wednesday, July 16, six prisoners were hanged: Peyman Afshar, 43 years old; Hadi Garrousi, 28 years old; and Mehdi Babaei, 31 years old in Lakan Prison, Rasht; Mowlan Abdolazizkhani, 31 years old; and Vahhab Heydari, 29 years old in Choobindar Prison, Qazvin; and Abbas Zare’ in Karaj Central Prison.
On Monday, July 14, Mohammad-Javad Kazemi was executed in Arak Central Prison, Kianoush Khosravi Siah-Bidi in Dizelabad Prison, Kermanshah, and Ghasem Azizi in Birjand Prison.
On Sunday, July 13, five prisoners were executed: Alimirza Bahrami, 32 years old; Jalal Nazarbeigi, 33 years old; and Hamid Yavari in Hamedan; Sagvand Mosayyeb in Khorramabad; and Abbasali Jahangardi in Sari.
In addition to the names previously announced, on Wednesday, July 9, Morad-Hassan Mansouri was executed in Malayer, and on Tuesday, July 8, Yousef Parsa and another individual were executed in Qazvin.
With these, the number of executions under Pezeshkian’s administration (since August 2024) has reached at least 1,438—an unprecedented figure over the past three decades. Execution and killing are the lifeblood of Khamenei’s rule, especially in the final phase of his regime. The clerical regime, besieged by massive domestic and international crises and on the verge of collapse, has proven incapable of halting the machinery of execution and killing—even during the month of Muharram.
