At Least 353 Prisoners Executed in the Iranian Month of Bahman, including 5 Women, across 65 Cities and 31 Provinces; 10 Executed on First Day of Ramadan
Number of Executions in Past 11 Months Reaches 2,600
The execution machine of the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, claimed at least 353 victims in 31 provinces and 65 cities during the Iranian month of Bahman (January 21 -February 19). Razavi Khorasan Province with 42 executions, Lorestan with 26, Khuzestan with 22, Isfahan with 20, Fars and Kerman each with 17, and Mazandaran with 16 executions topped the list of crimes committed by Khamenei and the his judiciary. The number of executions this month was more than 4.5 times that of Bahman 1403 (76 executions), about 10 times that of Bahman 1402 (36 executions), and about 8 times that of Bahman 1401 (44 executions). This unprecedented surge in executions demonstrates that the inhuman clerical regime cannot survive even for a single day without execution, imprisonment, and torture.
On Thursday, February 19, coinciding with the first day of Ramadan, the regime’s judiciary sent 10 prisoners to the gallows: Mokhtar Azizian in Bojnurd, a prisoner in Taybad, Rahim Mashayekhi in Ferdows, Milad Ghaedi in Mahshahr, Ali-Jafar Sadeghi in Behbahan, Farez Babaei in Bukan, Mehrshad Panji in Sari, Rahman Omrani in Esfarayen, Hassan Amani (Narouie) in Sarakhs, and Javad Zare (Keshani) in Torbat Heydarieh.
On Wednesday, February 18, 13 prisoners were hanged. These victims included: Khashayar Miri in Qezelhesar Prison (Karaj), Doshambeh Tajik in Chabahar, Khodayar Jahan-Tigh in Kashmar, Morteza Afrashteh in Mashhad, Jalil Shamsi in Damghan, Safa Rajabian in Gonabad, Emad Zeidi in Bushehr, Yaser Ghasemi in Shahrekord, Mojtaba Afshar and Sajjad Ahmadi in Malayer, Meysam Raoufi in Sabzevar, Mohammad Tavakoli in Mahabad, and Esmail Kalhori in Lahijan.
On Tuesday, February 17, 16 prisoners were executed. The names of 12 of them were mentioned in the previous announcement; the four other victims were Rasul Khani and Mohsen Seyedi in Shiraz, as well as Reza Bigham and another prisoner in Mashhad.
Thus, the number of executions in the first 11 months of the Iranian year 1404 has reached at least 2,587, a figure unprecedented since 1988.
