Iran: Tenth Day of Hunger Strike by Political Prisoners in Ghezel Hesar

No information regarding the fate and whereabouts of political prisoner Saeed Massouri.

A number of political prisoners who were transferred to the secure ward of Ghezel Hesar prison on July 26, 2025, following a brutal gang assault by anti-riot guards on the political prisoners’ hall in Ward 4 of this prison, remain in this ward. The tormentors refuse to return them to Ward 4.

These political prisoners, who began a hunger strike on the same day of the guard’s attack, are now completing their tenth day of the strike, and some of them are in critical health conditions.

During the July 26, 2025, attack on political prisoners in Ward 4 of Ghezel Hesar, regime agents took Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani for execution and Saeed Massouri for exile, transferring the rest to the secure ward. Despite 10 days having passed since this attack, there is no news of Saeed Massouri’s fate, and no one at the prison knows his whereabouts. Saeed is one of Iran’s longest-serving political prisoners, having spent 25 years in prison without a single day of medical leave.
