Iranian Arab Citizen Killed in Custody of Ahvaz Intelligence Amid Unprecedented Wave of Executions and Hunger Strikes in Ghezel Hesar Prison

NCRI logoIranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei, who sinks deeper each day into the quagmire of insoluble crises, refrains from no crime to preserve his regime. The number of executions in the past 23 days has exceeded the unprecedented figure of 200 people. In protest against these brutal executions, 1,500 death row inmates in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison are on their fourth day of hunger strike.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in a raid by plainclothes officers on the home of Hassan Saedi, a 34-year-old Arab compatriot from the Mullasani district of Ahvaz, he was arrested after being severely beaten. The agents confiscated all family members’ mobile phones and handed Hassan over to the Ahvaz Intelligence Department.

The next morning, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Intelligence Department informed his family to come and collect Hassan’s body. The executioners shamelessly claimed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest, while, according to his family and all those close to him, Hassan had been in perfect physical and mental health. Hassan, the father of two children, had previously been arrested several times by security agencies for his cultural activities.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, and other relevant UN bodies to investigate the causes of Hassan Saedi’s death, and once again urges the dispatch of an international fact-finding mission to visit Iranian prisons and speak with prisoners, particularly political detainees. The unbridled bloodshed perpetrated by the ruling religious fascism in Iran must not go unanswered.
