Saeed Masouri Exiled to Zahedan, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani Executed

On the morning of Saturday, July 26, 2025, more than 100 armed guards from Qezelhessar Prison’s special forces, under the orders of the prison warden Allahkaram Azizi and his two deputies, Hassan Ghobadi and Esmail Farajnejad, along with intelligence agents, raided the political prisoners’ ward in Unit 4 of Ghezel Hesar Prison. Prisoners were beaten, dragged across the floor with handcuffs and leg shackles, bags over their heads, and forcibly taken to solitary confinement.

Khamenei’s henchmen transferred the PMOI (People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran) members Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani to solitary confinement for execution and took Saeed Masouri away to exile him to Zahedan Prison. In this savage assault, several political prisoners were severely injured, and the few personal belongings of the inmates were trampled and destroyed.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Intelligence, fearing public reaction, has refused to hand over the bodies of the martyred PMOI members Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani to their families, who had gathered outside Ghezel Hesar Prison. The regime aims to secretly bury them.

On Sunday, July 27, several families of prisoners, including Mehdi Hassani’s family, went to Ghezel Hesar Prison to inquire about the prisoners’ situation but received no answers. Families of the inmates have reported that since Friday, July 25, all contact between political prisoners and their families has been cut off.

On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, regime executioners forcibly pulled Saeed Masouri—one of Iran’s longest-serving political prisoners who has been in prison for 25 years without a single day of medical furlough—from his ward to transfer him to Zahedan Prison. However, in response to protests from other inmates, they were temporarily compelled to return him to the ward to calm the situation.

Silence and inaction in the face of the clerical regime’s crimes against humanity, including barbaric executions, repression of prisoners, trample human rights values and encourage its continuation of torture, executions, and killings. The Iranian Resistance calls for immediate action by the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, and all international human rights organizations to secure the release of political prisoners and to ascertain the conditions of political prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
