Execution of 14 Prisoners on March 1, on the eve of Ramadan, Including Three Brothers, a Father and Son, and a Woman

As Khamenei faces a steep decline, he has accelerated the pace of executions, with the number of executions in February reaching an unprecedented 100

In a major crime on Saturday, March 1, on the eve of Ramadan, Khamenei’s executioners sent 14 prisoners, including a woman and seven Baluch compatriots, to the gallows. The victims were Asieh Ghavicheshm, Massoud Barahouei, Aref Sadeqpour, Mehrdad Kalbali, Hassan Shahraki, and three brothers named Jalal, Javad, and Alireza Afagh in Mashhad; Mehrdad Asgarabadi in Arak; Mohammad Araqi and Ramin Alaei in Tabriz; a father and son in Qorveh; and Arsalan Pasha in Amol.

The inhuman clerical regime, besieged by economic, political, and international crises, has intensified its machinery of crime and execution to spread fear and terror. So far, 100 executions have been reported and recorded in February, a number several times higher than February of the previous year. Traditionally, the number of executions in February has been significantly lower than in other months due to its coincidence with the anniversary of the anti-Monarchial revolution on February 11.
