Call for Urgent Action to Save the Life of Zahra Tabari and Other Political Prisoners on Death Row

The regime’s judiciary has sentenced political prisoner Zahra Tabari, held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, to death on the charge of cooperating with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The verdict was issued by the so-called revolutionary court in Rasht, presided over by the henchman “Ahmad Darvish Goftar.” The so-called trial lasted for 10 minutes, was conducted via video conference, and Zahra Tabari was denied access to a lawyer of her choice.

Zahra Tabari, born in Babol, was arrested in April 2025 when security agents raided her home in Rasht. She had previously been arrested in June 2022, serving three months of her sentence in Lakan Prison in Rasht and 15 months under house arrest with an ankle monitor.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the relevant United Nations bodies and all human rights defenders to take urgent action to save the life of Zahra Tabari and other political prisoners sentenced to death.

It is worth reminding that the bloodthirsty regime of mullahs executed Zahra’s cousin, the PMOI member Dr. Tabari, in Babol in 1983.
