On the 44th anniversary of the nationwide resistance against religious fascism, the rebellious youth carried out 15 operations in Tehran and 12 other cities, including Urmia, Eslamabad-e Gharb, Shiraz, Bushehr, Golestan, Zahedan, Gorgan, Shahrekord, Birjand, Gahvareh in Kermanshah, Semnan, and Ramian in Golestan, setting fire to centers of suppression and plunder, as well as symbols of the clerical regime.
On June 20, 1981, following orders from regime leader Ruhollah Khomeini, the Revolutionary Guards opened fire on a peaceful demonstration of half a million Mojahedin (PMOI/MEK) supporters in Tehran. This marked the beginning of a wave of mass executions in prisons. This day was named the beginning of the nationwide just resistance and the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners.
In these courageous operations by the rebellious youth, the following centers were set ablaze:
• Four Basij centers of the IRGC in Tehran, Golestan, Zahedan, and Bushehr;
• A regime’s judiciary center in Gahvareh, Kermanshah;
• A repression and torture center in Urmia;
