Haft Tappeh workers’ strike enters its 11th week

and railway workers go on strike

Workers of oil, gas, petrochemical refineries, and power plants in different cities across Iran continued their strike for the 23rd day running. Workers’ strikes are taking place in 55 centers in 24 cities in 12 provinces, and more workers are joining the strike every day.

The workers and their representatives have announced that the four-week-long strikewill continue until all workers’ demands are met.

On August 22, workers of Farabi Petrochemical Company (Bandar Khomeini) also gathered to protest the significant reduction in their wages.

On the 70th day of their strike, workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Industrial Complex gathered in front of the Shush governor’s office, today,  chanting, “We will drive out the private sector thieves and embezzlers of Haft Tappeh and take back Haft Tappeh,”

Varamin railway workers went on strike today, August 23, to protest their unpaid salaries. They gathered at the railway station preventing trains from moving.  They vowed that the protest and strike would continue until the traverse company pays the workers’ salaries.

On August 22, workers of railway companies in Karaj, Kordan, Hashtgerd, Abyek, and Ziyaran went on strike over their unpaid salaries, overdue insurance, and skyrocketing inflation. It is noteworthy that the wages of railway workers in most parts of the country have not been paid for a long time.
