Iran Uprising: Names of 10 More Martyrs Announced, Bringing Total Identified to 54

Names Revealed of Martyrs Killed in Chenaran and Lordegan

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Friday, January 9, the names of 10 more martyrs of the nationwide uprising after confirming their identities. This brings the total number of identified martyrs, killed by direct fire from the suppressive forces under the command of the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, over the past two weeks, to 54.

Five of the newly identified martyrs are from Chenaran in Razavi Khorasan province. They were killed by direct fire from suppressive forces during protests in the city on January 7. Previously, the deputy governor of Razavi Khorasan had brazenly admitted on state television to the killing of five protesters in Chenaran without revealing their names. Three other martyrs were killed during the heroic uprising of the people of Lordegan in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province on January 7.

A large number of people, particularly rebellious youths, were martyred on January 8 and 9. Their names will be announced after they are verified.

The names of the 10 martyrs are:

  5. Mehdi Ghorbandoost, 18 — Chenaran (Razavi Khorasan) — January 7, 2026
