NCRI-50Following the uprising in Sistan and Baluchestan, on Thursday night, rebellious youths set fire to the Revolutionary Guards headquarters in Suran (Sistan and Baluchestan Province). Protesters in Suran burned tires to block IRGC reinforcements from accessing roads approaching the city, and clashes with repressive guards continued in different parts of the city for hours.

The brave people of Bampur targeted the State Security Force station in the city last night and clashed with repressive guards. This morning, IRGC helicopters could be seen circling over Chabahar.

The clerical regime dispatched dozens of vehicles carrying special units from Isfahan and other neighboring provinces to suppress the Baluch people and stem the tide of the uprising in the province. On Friday, February 26, 2021, Internet was reported to be completely cut off in the cities of Zahedan and Dashtiari.

Mehdi Shamsabadi, the regime’s deputy Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan in Intelligence and Security issues, claimed in an interview with ILNA news agency yesterday that “Sistan and Baluchestan is stable in terms of security and the cities of the Province completely calm.” He described the popular protests as rumors and told ILNA that “after what happened in Saravan, some people tried to use the opportunity and attacked checkpoints in Korin and Qaleh Bid. He claimed that the attackers were “not from the people but belonged to the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI).” He accused opposition groups of “trying to benefit from muddy waters to destabilize the situation in the Province.”

Zahedan county governor Abouzar-Mehdi Nakhaei was quoted by ISNA yesterday as saying, “Evil elements attacked these bases with small-caliber weapons and grenade-launchers to seize Korin and Qaleh Bid bases,” in support of the victims of Saravan checkpoint.
