On Thursday morning, January 8, the twelfth day of the nationwide uprising, bazaaris and merchants in Tehran and many other cities went on strike. The grand bazaars of Tehran, Saqqez, Shahrekord, Dizelabad in Kermanshah, Hashtbandi in Hormozgan, Sanandaj, Marivan, Divandarreh, Kamyaran, Mahabad, Urmia, Piranshahr, Fasa, Sarpol-e Zahab, Kerman, and numerous other cities were on a complete strike.

In Ilam province, the courageous people of ‘Lomar’ (Sirvan county) took to the streets in large numbers, setting fire to stores and centers affiliated with the IRGC. They took control of the streets, chanting ‘Death to Khamenei’ and ‘Cannons, tanks, firecrackers, the mullahs must get lost.’ Simultaneously, in ‘Asemanabad’ in the city of Sarableh, Ilam, rebellious youths seized an IRGC center in a daring attack.

In Hamedan, residents and rebellious youths protested on Ekbatan Street and in other areas, chanting, ‘Iranians, raise your voice, shout for your rights!’ In Kermanshah, hit-and-run clashes continued in the Maskān and Elahieh neighborhoods. According to reports from Kermanshah, members of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi, speaking Arabic, are participating alongside the IRGC in the suppression, indicating the regime’s desperation in confronting the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people.

On Wednesday evening, along the Varamin road, rebellious youths clashed with a unit of the State Security Force (SSF) that had opened fire on the public, killing two regime agents; a woman was also injured in the clash. In Andimeshk, youths used weapons to confront the SSF, which had opened fire on protesters, forcing them to retreat.

In Lordegan, enraged residents set fire to the regime’s governor’s office, and IRGC commander ‘Hassan Faramarzi’ was severely wounded. In Khoshk-e Bijar (Gilan province), two youths were killed by gunfire from regime security forces.
