Today, Saturday, December 7, 2024, Massoud Pezeshkian, Khamenei’s president, Gholamhossein Eje’i, the head of judiciary, and several other Khamenei’s agents attended selected gatherings at universities, delivering speeches to pre-screened audiences in an attempt to counter student protests and demonstrations by creating staged events and a repressive atmosphere.

During Pezeshkian’s visit to a technology exhibition at the Sharif University of Technology, students were barred from entering the venue or the lecture hall. Instead, regime agents disguised as students were allowed in to suppress potential dissent or force those who protested into silence.

Nevertheless, some students from the university penned an open letter stating: “If your visit is merely symbolic, next time, hold it elsewhere to avoid insulting the students.” Another group wrote: “Next time, the patience of the people will wear thin, and remember, no power is greater than the power of the powerless when they act with determination.”

Meanwhile, students, rebellious youth, and resistance units in various cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Hamedan, Isfahan, Yazd, Malard, Borujerd, Bojnourd, Anzali, Shahr-e Kord, and Qom, protested Pezeshkian’s presence at the Sharif University of Technology. Carrying placards in front of universities and other city locations, they voiced their objections.

Their placards included slogans such as:

“The university is the bastion of freedom, Pezeshkian get lost!”

“Pezeshkian resign, resign.”

“The university is the heartbeat of freedom; there is no place for Pezeshkian’s bloodstained hands.”

“Pezeshkian, get out of the University of Tehran; universities are no place for executioners.”

“Pezeshkian, the criminal, universities are not military barracks.”
