On Sunday, April 23, the strike of oil and petrochemical industry project workers entered its third day, and more workers joined the strike. Workers in 76 centers and industrial companies, who are employed in the oil and petrochemical industries in 27 cities out of 11 provinces in the country, went on strike to protest against the low level of wages, non-payment of wages and benefits, exhausting working conditions, and lack of attention to their demands.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), saluted the striking workers who stood up to claim their rights and said that as long as this regime is in power, poverty, unemployment, and inflation will increase, and the condition of workers and toilers will worsen. She further stated that the only thing that is important for this regime is maintaining the disgraceful rule of Velayat-e Faqih. Khamenei and the IRGC are utilizing all the wealth and resources of the country in this direction. She emphasized that the only way forward is to overthrow the religious dictatorship and establish democracy and the people’s sovereignty.
