Iranian Resistance warns of false reports whose source is the Iranian regime

NCRI – In its 8:00 pm news program, French television station, TF1, broadcast a report about a terrorist threat in greater eastern part of France and that five Iranian or Afghan nationals were being sought. It quoted a source in Luxembourg, "The Iranians that are being pursued reportedly belong to the People’s Mojahedin of Iran movement, the largest Iranian opposition movement, whose headquarters is in France. Intelligence sources are assessing this report. They are looking at this information with great caution. They had previously received reports that according to which some actions are in process which aim to destabilize the Mojahedin."

This report is utterly false and bogus. The main source of this report is the Iranian regime and its Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS). The MOIS misinformation campaign against the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance is common knowledge.

All activities and actions of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its members, including the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) outside Iran, including in France, are within the framework of the laws of those countries. European governments, particularly the French government and police, are fully cognizant of the lawful nature of the activities of the Iranian Resistance.

The dissemination of this false information is indicative of a sinister plot hatched by the Iranian regime. In the past few weeks, Farsi language media affiliated with the MOIS have published reports, purporting that the PMOI was planning to carry out military activities in France.

On July 27, 2007, the NCRI wrote a letter to French officials warning of this plot and added, "The mullahs’ regime is poised to engage in a misinformation campaign alleging that the Iranian Resistance intended to plan violent activities in Europe, especially in France. We have been informed that letters in this respect have been sent to the French President Nicholas Sarkozy and a number of cabinet ministers."

The Iranian resistance again warns of the clerical regime’s designs over such fabrications. This is an all too well-known practice by the Iranian regime which perpetrates terrorist crimes and blames them on the PMOI. The murder of Christian priests in Tehran, the bombing of the holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad, northeast Iran, and setting fire to Ka’aba in Mecca are but a few examples of the Iranian regime’s crimes which it has attributed to the Iranian Resistance in the past few years. All of these ludicrous claims were proven false during the factional feuding within the regime and it was established beyond doubt that the MOIS had planned and carried out these atrocities.
