NCRI – According to the Iranian regime’s official news agency, IRNA, on September 27, Ahmad Hemati, a member of the regime’s parliament from Semnan, admitted the dire and deteriorating economic condition in Iran as well as unemployment, spread of poverty and fall of the national currency.

Hemati who was referring to the characteristics of the economy in his speech at an open session of parliament said: “Now, with these characteristics why is the country’s economy not in a good and suitable condition and why is the income of so many of our people less than one-third of the poverty line? What do the average economic growth, inflation rate, unemployment and our share of the global economy in the past four decades illustrate? The high interest rate and profits of the banks that do not even follow the government’s directives is indicative of what (fact)?

“There has been 500 times reduction in the value of the national currency during this period according to all the correct and incorrect statistics given by various governments, and if this trend continues, what will happen to the value of our national currency? In this case, don’t we have to exchange credible international loans (debts) with millions of rials? I leave the detailed answers to these questions to the country’s experts and elites…,” he added.
