NCRI – Seyed Razi Nouri in an interview with Tasnim News affiliated with the terrorist Quds Force referred to the environmental crisis in Khuzestan stating that:”the government and environmental authorities know that the basic remedy to the problem of dust pollution in Khuzestan is to avoid unprofessional dam constructions, to stream the water in the dry wetlands and to halt plans to transfer water from the Karun river’s tributaries.”

The Member of Parliament from Shush (in Khuzestan Province) and the Member of Agriculture Commission made remarks about the impact of dust on the decrease of agricultural productions in Khuzestan Province stating that this issue threatens the food security of the country. Additionally, the reduction of agricultural productions and the lack of enough water resources are the negative consequences of dust.

This Member of Parliament referred to the recent meeting held between Rouhani and his cabinet to resolve the crisis of Khuzestan. He stated: “at the meeting, it was decided to implement the programs but unfortunately no firm plan has been devised to effectively solve the issue so far.”

In response to Rouhani’s speech that the crisis of dust is a divine punishment and people should repent, Seyed Razi Nouri stated: “I have to say that these words are totally ill-conceived. Rouhani shifts the blame to other factors in order to cover his poor performance. He used to blame the previous government for the current problems and he now blames the people. The problem is that the water is transferred for industrial and agriculture purposes in the name of drinking water while the people of Ahvaz and other cities are still deprived of drinking water and even the agriculture has been disrupted due to lack of water resources. However, Khuzestan water shall be transferred to other cities for different purposes other than drinking.”
