Iran: Five prisoners transferred to the notorious Evin Prison for hanging

Prisoners transferred for executions in IranNCRI – On Tuesday five prisoners have been transferred from Gohardasht Prison in suburban Tehran to the notorious Evin Prison to face gallows soon.

Among the transferees are at least three youngsters who were minors at the time of the alleged crimes. The prison's warden has isolated the cell block in which the death row inmates are held. The prisoners therefore have no access to the outside world since the phone lines to the block are not operating.

There are five juveniles identified as Behrooz (Behnod) Shojaii, Mohammad Fadaii, Saiid Jazi, Ali Mahin Torubi and Reza Hadizadeh held in the secluded block. The later was only 13 at the time of the alleged crime.

Despite two statements issued by the EU in May protesting to the planned hangings of two juveniles; Behrooz (Behnod) Shojaii and Saiid Jazi, the mullahs' regime, in a grimace to EU's call, is intending to hang them.
