Iran: political prisoner Behnam Mousivand on hunger strike

Behnam-Mousivand

NCRI – According to the reports, political prisoner “Behnam Mousivand” is on a hunger strike from Wednesday September 7 in Ewin Detention Center located in north of Tehran.

This political prisoner started his hunger strike after being beaten by regime’s agents in ‘common ward’ section of the prison and ended up with a broken head in September 5.

It should be pointed out that the executioners at the Evin prison also transferred political prisoner “Ali Moezzi” to Gohardasht prison for protesting against beating of Behnam Mousivand. He was then returned to the quarantine ward 4 of the prison on the same day. Ali Moezzi is the father of two members of People’s Mojahedin Organization(PMOI/MEK) living in Ashraf camp in Iraq.

Behnam Mousivand introduced himself to Ewin prison June 12, 2016, to spend his 12-month sentence in addition to a previous 2-year imprisonment. After being first transferred to quarantine ward 4, he was eventually transferred to hall-10 ward-8 of the Ewin prison.

There are also reports that a number of political prisoners in ward 8 of the prison, after being beaten by a number of regime’s agents and financial convicts, were threatened by the agents of the mullahs’ regime in the prison to be sent into exile in Tehran’s big prison in Fashafouyeh.

Arash Sadeghi, Behnam Mousivand and Vahid Sayyadi are among the political prisoners in ward 8 of the Ewin prison who have been called and threatened by the prison torturers, including “Salmani” the manager of the ward 8, to be transferred to a notorious prison in Fashafouye.

During a physical clash, some of the political prisoners in this ward were beaten by the regime’s agents and a number of financial convicts. One of the political prisoners was then sent into exile in  Rajayeeshahr prison in Karaj.

Two of the regime’s notorious agents in ward 8 named “Ali Shabani” and “Naser Chehri”, both of whom the ex-members of the revolutionary guard, have been identified as the main cause and the invaders in the clash.

The two men are charged with fraud and are now spending their prison sentence in ward 8 of the Ewin prison. Despite creating physical clashes and quite contrary to the prison regulations, they have not been transferred to another ward and not even received any warning or punitive measures from the prison administrators.
