Iranian political prisoner denied hospital treatment

Behnam-Moosivand-400

NCRI – Iranian political prisoner Behnam Moosivand, who suffers from hemorrhoid as well as severe bleeding of the colon, was prevented earlier this week by the regime’s intelligence agents from receiving hospital treatment for his conditions.

He is in critical physical condition due to malnutrition.

The infirmary of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison, where he is housed, recently told him that they were unable to treat him and that he should be sent to a specialized hospital outside the prison for further treatment but the regime’s torturers in Evin prevented his transfer.

On Sunday, August 14, Mr. Moosivand was promised to be transferred to Taleqani Hospital in Tehran. He was summoned for the transfer at 7am, while the agents insisted on placing handcuffs and chains on his hands and feet despite his critical condition. Having refused to be cuffed, Mr. Moosivand was prevented by the regime’s Intelligence Ministry agents from being transferred.

Mr. Moosivand was arrested on June 13, 2016 and imprisoned in Evin Prison. He was previously imprisoned in Ward 350 of Evin Prison in September 2014 and sentenced to one year of imprisonment.
