Prison abuses continue across Iran

Four political prisoners in Kermanshah’s Dizel Abad prison have been deprived of visits and telephone calls with their loved ones for three months, according to reports from inside Iran.

Bahmad Salimi, Ismaeil Abdi, Balal Ahmadi and Mosa’ab Khezri are Sunni Muslims arrested on charges of insulting a judicial authority.

The four have spent four months in the prison’s Ward Ten, which is notoriously unhygienic and used to house those infected with HIV.

Their incarceration comes amid mounting reports of the suppression of Sunnis by the regime.

A political prisoner at Evin Prison was also mistreated by security forces when he was transferred to a hospital outside the prison for a doctor’s visit.

Mohammad Samei, suffering intense bleeding in his stomach, was transferred to hospital in handcuffs and chains and was tied to the hospital bed.

Despite his protests to this condition, he was tied to the bed for 8 days and returned to prison without completing his treatment.

Political prisoner Mohammad Reza Pourshajari is also suffering from severe diabetes and lack of medication is causing numbness in his legs and fingers, making him unable to sleep and could lead to doctors having to remove an eye.
