Recently prisoners are forced to leave their cells in early morning hours in subfreezing temperatures of Tehran suburbs. The new technique of torturing political prisoners goes on well into the afternoon. During three months of winter in the area often it snows throughout the day and it is extremely difficult for inmates to stand the cold for hours in outdoors. Some of the prisoners in ward 4 are in their seventies and eighties. Many have caught flu as a result of standing in the cold.
Ali Haj Kazem, the prison warden has ordered the guards in ward 4 to attack the prisoners. A few of the inmates have been transferred to cells called "dog house" to break their resistance.
Despite such inhuman treatments the prisoners are determined to continue with their protests until their demands are met.
