NCRI – An attack on Syria would be considered an attack on the Iran, Syria’s deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Faisal Meghdad has warned.
His comments come as the Iranian regime has pledged its full support for Bashar al-Assad’s embattled regime and insisted Syria would emerge victorious in any conflict with the west.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Affairs committee, also blamed the chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime on the Syrian people’s resistance, and said Iran was ready to offer its expertise in treating chemical victims.
The Speaker of the Syrian Parliament, Mohammad Jahad Allaham, also said in a meeting with Boroujerdi: “Syria, with the support of its friends including Iran, Russia and China, will come out of this crisis victorious.
“The Arab League is the puppet of some of the oil-rich countries of the region including Saudi Arabia, which is a supporter of war against Syria. This position of the Arab League is a shameful stain on the Arab world.”
Syria’s deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Meghdad added: “Attacking Syria is also considered attacking Iran.”
