• Esfahan Farmers Protest

On Friday September 27, Isfahan farmers protest against deteriorating agriculture conditions. Right outside the great fruit market in Khorasgan their tractors put on a scene. A big banner is hung to the vehicle that reads, dying with dignity is far better than living with humility!

Khorasgan is east of Isfahan Province, where the farmers set their gathering. These farmers work on the fruit and vegetable fields. Since water problems grew they’ve not been able to sell off products.
Commercial farming has turned into a disaster and what used to be the pride of these farmers is vanishing.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ordered that all but emergency staff leave Basra, with consular duties to be taken over by the embassy in Baghdad. Basra is Iraq’s main port and one of its largest cities.

Pompeo, as he explained the move, renewed a warning that the United States would hold Iran directly responsible for attacks on Americans and US diplomatic facilities.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Neuert said on Friday that the meeting discussed the establishment of a “Middle East strategic alliance” to promote security and stability in the region.
