The criminal death sentences of Hassan Dehvari, Elias Qalandarzehi and Omid Mahmoudzehi were carried out in Zahedan Prison, south-east Iran, this morning, January 3rd.


Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 478 Cities Exceeds 196,000

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, January 2, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 478 cities across Iran had exceeded 196,000. The number of victims in Tehran is 48,091, Khorasan Razavi 13,305, Isfahan 12,095, Khuzestan 9,915, Lorestan 7,898, Mazandaran 7,477, West Azerbaijan 7,293, Gilan 6,951, Fars 5,998, Sistan and Baluchestan 4,761, Kerman 4,313, Kurdistan 3,356, Semnan 2,954, Ardabil 2,407, Ilam 2,020, and Bushehr 1,979.

No news on Golrokh Iraee 20 days past her forcible transfer to Evin

More than 20 days since her forcible transfer to Ward 2A of Evin Prison, her family have no news on Golrokh Iraee and her conditions.

Golrokh Iraee’s family are extremely worried about her health and the possibility of fabrication of a new case against her. As a result, her mother suffered a nervous attack and is presently hospitalized. Golrokh Iraee has not had any contacts or visits with her family since she was taken to the IRGC Intelligence detention center at Ward 2A in Evin Prison.

Iran’s New Year’s Eve Execution Underscores Rejection of Human Rights Principles

On Thursday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights issued a statement condemning the execution, earlier that same day, of a juvenile offender in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The incident stood out as a late addition to the country’s catalogue of human rights abuses for the year 2020. Three other juvenile offenders had been executed by the Iranian judiciary earlier in the year, and Thursday’s case seemed to reaffirm the clerical regime’s rejection of foreign criticisms of this practice and of other widely reported irregularities in Iranian jurisprudence.
